Stephanie Gonyeau: VST Judge
Although Stephanie Gonyeau has owned Basset Hounds since 1966, it took until 1991 for her to become interested in tracking. At the Nationals that year in New Jersey, Stephanie’s Oxboros Boughs of Holly earned her T.D. and Stephanie was hooked on the sport of tracking.
Since that first Basset TD, Stephanie’s Bassets (and one Golden Retriever) have passed a total of 15 tracking tests and three tracking dog excellent tests. During this time, Stephanie became more fascinated by tracking and started assisting in training tracking classes for local kennel and tracking clubs. She soon became a full trainer.
Eventually, Stephanie was encouraged to apply for judging status. She is currently approved to judge Tracking Dog, Tracking Dog Excellent, Tracking Dog Urban and Variable Surface Tracking.
Stephanie is honored to be invited to judge the 2014 Basset Hound Club of America National Specialty VST test. She wishes good luck to all of the exhibitors and hopes that all of the participants have a wonderful time in the Pacific Northwest.
